As it was promising to deliver an ultra-mainboard to tight-space and media centric applications, Via has announced his first product in the 10- x 7.2 cm Pico-ITX lineup. The size which is 75 % smaller then the Mini-ITX boards of the past, this x86 based reference design seeks to involve in a new world of ultra compact embedded PC. The board was design to be powered by on of Via's own C7 or Eden CPUs, and should be available very soon to board vendors and hardware designers which they are interested in to plan even smaller PC for their customers. Also lets not forget that the design relies on the firm's VX700 chipset which provides ethernet connection, eight-channel HD audio, 4 USB 2.0 ports, SATA connector, and in the end a multi format card reader. The company has announce that the price will be between $300-$500.
