Yes, there definitely is a lot of useless information about linking out there--just remember that you need to get links to promote your site, not to do well in the search engines. The focus should be on getting links from websites that complement your site (and that are on the same topic) and that will send you traffic....

Yes, link building could be tiring and really time consuming. It entails passion....

I am just thankful that there are affordable link building services available if I do not have enough time to do it myself.

yes they are, but to much work to do... i mean u need a lot of patience to do this...
